kokeshi doll applique, art cards and more drawing

This last week has flown by since we moved Rach and Lu into uni halls, needless to say they have had an amazing week in Edinburgh as I expected. Heres a photo of Rachel outside the Craiglockhart campus where she'll be studying ~ sorry Rach I will remove this photo if you want me too but I do think its rather lovely of her. Still have to take one of Louise, by the time we got to her campus it was extremely windy and cold and I forgot all about taking the photo..... I will catch you yet Lu.

So this last week Ive been busy with college homework and crafty stuff and even fitted in a visit to the DCA to screen print and today worked in the salon :) which I love as its a day away from my usual creativity.

so I wanted to share some of the work I made this week, first a little kokeshi doll appliqued bag (but I realise I need to figure out how to take better photos though this photo doesnt do the bag justice)

Also the next of my drawings from my observational drawing art class. Soon as I saw this I was reminded of the 70's and going out for Chicken in a basket meals, does any one else remember these where there was a candle stuck in the bottle! except it was usually a mateus rose wine bottle!

And finally for now some more miniature pieces of art

Ive got more to show but need to photograph it! Rach has just come home so have to go now ~ one happy mum :)

Hi Judy, you have drawn my bottle of chianti from my last but one post on Love Stitching Red! Sad to say I have one of these bottles with a candle still stuck in it!!! and yes, I do remember Mateus Rose with candles in too, showing my age LOL!

Your drawings are fab. Love the owls - they are a HOOT!

Glad to hear the girls have settled in and that you have too

Bye for now, hugs
Carolyn

Judy I just loooove your owls (I am such an owl lover and these are just the cutest). The Kokeshi dolls are wonderful, great bag! Love the screen printing.
Yes that drawing of the chianti bottle...I remember the bottle with the candle and all of the wax drippings from the various candles.
Lovely to hear your girls are settling in well in Edinborough!

Your owls are super Judy. I still have a clay owl I made at school. And yes chicken in the basket and candles in Mateus bottles take me back to my teens. :-)

Your daughter is gorgeous...looks so like you.
Of course I love your owls Judy....well I have one hanging on my wall!! As for Chianti bottles with a candle in....reminds me of our courting days when we frequented an Italian pizza restaurant in Nottingham!
