liquorice allsorts ~ the next stage

Hello everyone, how are you all! I would love to say Im back but that depends on the box Im sitting in front of, it 's being really naughty, you name it its being it and a new one isnt possible at the moment!

paper collage made with a variety of papers ~brown, wallpaper, newsprint and cartridge paper
then decorated with gesso, acrylic paint, white oil pastel,  dye and bleach

Anyway Ive been wanting to share my news so  thought Id try tonight to share some of the paper and stiched work Ive been doing in my textile techniques class based on Cake and Candy, its been a good project but would have liked to be stretched a little more however I am pleased with my results.  If you remember the liquorise all sorts then you might see where they have led from ......

above and below ~ paper collages

A variety of fabrics were then created to take the designs to the next stage, I dyed and coloured loads and loads far too many to show here

above ~ shibori

muslin dyed with jelly dyes

silk coloured  with fabric paint and salt sprinkled on whilst wet

distressed  with soldering iron

distressed with wire brush

We also went over embroidery stitches both hand and machine

and then with the fabric  created I then started to make fabric samples

strip patchwork

shibori with free machining

reverse applique

free machine cupcake

free machined roses

reverse applique with strip patchwork

three more to add! but they're in the car and its pouring down so they can wait for now

see you all again soon computer allowing ~ Judy xxx
